Need other numbers to compare against. 882 would be the model/catalog part number. 1958 Western Flyer X53 (Murray Ohio Mfg) The X53 was a model sold through Western Auto tire stores but the bike was built by Murray Ohio Mfg. The X53 was sold from 1953-1958 and was offered in a few different color combinations. The X53 featured a highly stylized chainguard, tank, and rack with a modified top on a Delta Rocket Ray headlight.

I have another number for you the bike has 'Supreme' on the chain guard and the Murray symbol on the rack. The numbers are: MO1A24X6 no spaces or dashes under that is I assume SN. The serial number on this bike starts 502(this means it was produced for Sears) The next five numbers 46943 means that it is the model only made between 1966-68. I do not know which year. Only that it falls in that time span.

The majority of serial numbers are located under the bottom bracket where the two pedal cranks meet. Turn your bike upside down and record the number.

How to Register without a Serial Number
If you can’t find a serial number, you can still register your bicycle with DPS. To do so, bring the bicycle to the station, located in Parking Structure A (PSA). We can provide you with tools to engrave your driver’s license number on your frame. We’ll use this as alternate identification to the manufacturer’s serial number.
