Majid Jordan//A Place Like This
The Canadian based duo Majid Jordan has released their first EP titled A Place Like This. Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman have created a sound that most would find familiar. Drake’s hit single, “Hold On We’re Going Home”, was co- produced by the pair and shortly after, along with Drake, 40 and Omen, they co-produced Beyonce’s pensive track, “Mine”. Thus began their presence in mainstream hip hop and R&B. Maskati and Ullman have layered tranquil vocals amidst beat heavy and rhythmically diverse tracks. The EP, A Place Like This, is made up of four tracks, “Forever”, “All I Do”, “Her”, “U”, and “A Place Like This”. “Her” melodically exists in the realm of cool. It is smooth, consistent and allows a clarity for his lyrical admiration of a woman and her form. “U” possesses a heart of longing and an honest approach to heart ache. Majid Jordan is an artist to watch in the coming months and has evolutionary potential in the music industry of today.

The music video was released on July 7, 2014 on YouTube, it was directed by Jamie Webster of Common Good.[2][3] The introspective visuals take fans through one woman's journey through a steamy, sexy party— inter cut with appearances from the duo. The aforementioned woman moves from party goer to party goer as she searches for love and eventually finds it by the end of the video, as she gives the object of her affection a time that he will never forget. Or wake up from.[4]
